“God’s Got a Plan.”
Don’t you just love a friend who cuts to the chase to remind you of what’s true?
My friend Lori is that kind of gal. She’s the girl who looks straight past your eyes into your soul and asks what’s really going on. She’s usually got her hand on your shoulder, and there’s no chance she’s going to let you squirm out from under her inquiry.
She’s an attentive listener, good with follow-up questions. She knows Scripture and shares the right words at the right time. After she’s wiped away your tears and given you a big, strong Texas hug, she’ll say, “God’s got a plan.”
As simplistic as that may sound, the profound truth of her statement will bring you a comfort and a peace you never could’ve imagined you’d experience before your little chat began.
Lori is a dear and welcome messenger of God’s hope and promises when the world feels heavy. Often, when I’m processing something hard or confusing, I can almost hear her voice: “God’s got a plan.” And there’s that comfort and peace that I need so desperately in that moment.
I hope you have at least one good friend who speaks truth into your life, and I hope you’re that kind of friend to others. Truth is a rare and precious commodity in this broken world. Seek it out, grasp onto it with all your might, and let it bring your soul to life. Then share it with someone who needs to hear it.
