Going Public with Your Gratitude
On this toasty Labor Day, I bet one of the last things on your mind is how you’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving this year. Even though we’re in the “ber” months (September, October, November, December), the weather has tricked us into believing this eternal summer will literally go on forever. But never fear, cool weather friends, the seasons will indeed change. Relief is on the way.
In the meantime, here’s an invitation to distract you from the heat. You don’t have to plan holiday menus or invitation lists or seating arrangements around a big table. I’m just inviting you to set aside time to count your blessings over the past year. If you’re feeling brave, commit to sharing one or two stories or quick sentiments about reasons you’re grateful to the Lord or just a good reminder about how very blessed we truly are. It doesn’t have to be lengthy or eloquent – just honest sharing.
For those of you who are new(ish) to November Roses, the month of November is dedicated to expressing gratitude to God, being reminded of what His Word says about thanksgiving, and encouraging others to see His hand at work in the world. That may be just pointing out His simple gifts or it may be a “hard-fought hallelujah” that shows off His power and mercy. Judging from years past, every single Thanksgiving post for November Roses has been a real gift to others that’s brought encouragement, hope, and cause to glorify God in His goodness.
Starting on November 1, I’ll be posting a daily gratitude-themed story, and I’d love to include what you have to share! Don’t be shy about what the Lord has done in your life or miss this opportunity to give a shout-out to the wonder-working God you love and live for! If anonymity is the way you’d prefer to go, I can help with that. Send it my way, and we’ll keep the author’s name just between the two of us.
