Keep Those Prayers Coming!

Special Gratitude Edition

Guest Post by Lisa Burns

Keep praying for your babies, momma.

My “babies” are 27 and 30. I began praying for them way before they were born. I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness, even through hard seasons.

About ten years ago, God promised me that if I would release my prodigal to Him once and for all, He would bring that child back to me. I understood that to mean healed from addiction to drugs as well as following Jesus again. Over the past 10 years, as I have prayed God would bring my child back to Him in a way only He can, He has been so faithful to remind me He is working. My child is now in a relationship with someone who loves Jesus.

My new son-in-love recently began a Bible study with some college friends. Although he has a Bible, he went out and purchased a new study Bible. He told my daughter when she inquired about the new Bible, “You know when I do something, I’m all in.” I have joined my daughter in her prayer that the Lord would move in my son-in-love to make him a God-fearing man of their household. Because I know the faithfulness of God, I have no doubt He will make this happen. It may not happen as quickly as either of us likes, but I am confident it will happen.

I am thankful for God’s perfect timing and that He reminds us He is working in our circumstances. Sometimes He shows me in big ways and sometimes just a quiet reassurance that He hasn’t forgotten the desires of this momma’s heart. As I receive those reminders, I stop and offer a prayer of thanksgiving to El Roi, the God Who sees me.

Never stop pointing your babies to Jesus and praying for them, momma. El Roi, the God Who sees you, will answer your prayers in His perfect and sovereign timing.
